Imalent DN70 - Only $58 for a 3800 Lumen Compact Flashlight

Imalent DN70 is a crazy flashlight at this price range. It outputs max of 3800 lumens, comes with a nice 4000mah 26650 battery, and is USB rechargeable, that means it is a full package that is ready to play when you get the box!  Great gift idea!  You will shock all your friends with this flashlight, it's really crazy bright for this kind of size, and it is comparable to the Convoy L6 at 3800 lumens too, just with less flood i guess. I would have to say, that this is the best compact flashlight I have seen in 2017 out of all the other small size monsters. Even my Klarus G20 got to step asde and bow to this Imalent DN70 lol!

Here is the LED and the nice orange peel reflector, giving you a lot of flood but also throw. Weird enough, this light throws very well, even better than the Klarus G20 and such. I am shocked!

 

The back is very unique, because it is blue in color but dos not have anything special inside!  I thought it's magnetic or there is supposed to be a bunny popping out when I unscrew the blue part. Turns out it's just a design, with nothing special but color...

 

 The light is sexy looking and the two rubber button is very easy to find in the dark.  You can also see that the center is an OLED screen that shows you the voltage and the lumen / mode too. I have to say that this light does get hot when you use it on the turbo mode for a while, but its normal I guess. What doesn't get hot when its outputting so much light?

 

The other side is the USB charging port, which is protected by the rubber cover. I do have to tell you that this rubber cover can pop out by accident if you pull to hard. Don't be too aggressive with it when pulling it out.

 

 

The size is just right for my hand and it is pocket friendly!  Bright, powerful, and compact size, the perfect combo for 2017 flashlight trend?

When opens up, here goes the included 26650 battery, 4500 mah, pretty good!  Notice that the battery is a flat top. My klarus G20's battery cannot fit in this light, because of the extra height on the button top part. Ooops!

 

Look at the spring inside, pretty beefy looking right?  I would have to say that these Imalent lights do have some nice looking internals.

You can see my klarus G20 beside the Imalent DN70, and it is a big contrast isn't it?  My Klarus G20 keeps on screaming at this moment because it is too long and bulky, he wants to slim down to win the competition. LOL!

Imalent DT70 16000 Lumens BEAST Flashlight

The Imalent DT70 is one of the craziest monster flashlight today as of 2017. It outputs max of 16000 lumens with 4x LEDs and offers you a full package (comes with battery and USB charge feature), which you can play out of the box, without having to buy anything extra. Sum it up in short, if you like monster flashlight, or what we call pocket monster, you will want to own one of these. The 16000 lumens is legit, but some say it is about 13000 lumens or about only, which doesn't matter much to be honest.  I have the Thrunite TN36 2017 and it is a 10000 lumens light by Thrunite. This beast IS BRIGHTER than the Thrunite by far, so you know what I mean now?

Here goes the 4x LED on the Imalent DT70, and the orange peel reflector is quite deep, which gives you a good amount of throw. The box says 700m of throw, and yes this is throwy for such a crazy bright flooder light. I have never seen a flooder that throwy too.

 

Roll the light over, and here goes the OLED screen with voltage display and the lumen / mode display. The 2 rubber buttons are easy to press and will not be turn on by accident for sure. It does take some force to push and turn it on. I have to say, the voltage reading on this light is not very accurate, but it is better to have the estimation feature than not have.

 

 

Roll the light over, you will see the USB port behind the rubber seal / cover. This rubber cap can be pulled off easily with some force, be careful not to lose it when you are out in the dark.

 

 

The back is pretty, you will see the imalent DT70 word in big bolded font, and the "flood king" who claimed to have 700m of throw, but still a "flood king". What the heck eh?

 

 

The light has a few modes, from 80lm, 1000lm, 5000lm, 8500lm and then the 16000lm.

 

When you turn on the light, you can see the OLED, and yup the anti-roll design really works.

 

Here goes the 16000  lumens mode, and everywhere is white-out, super scary bright.

 

As I said before, the Imalent DT70 comes with 4x batteries and they are 3000mah Samsung brand INR18650 inside. I know because I ripped one of the battery and rewrapped it, and the inside says Samsung! :)  Nice battery for nice flashlight, good combo!

 

I forgot to add, this light can operate on 1x, or 2x, or 3x, or 4x battery, and if you watch my review, you will see my testing with it. That means, if your battery died on the trip, and you are left with only 1x 18650, you can still put it into this light and enjoy your bright night. It's super cool to have this feature, which even the Thrunite TN36 don't have!

 

Here goes the big strong springs in the body, and some people say that these springs will loosen up with time and not hold the contact well. I don't know how it will really do, but to me they are still doing fine at this moment. We will update the crowd if something happen to wear out and not work later on.

 

 

That's right, the Imalent DT70 is another palm size monster, or a pocket monster. It actually fits my jacket's pocket on the side.  Very good size for camping and even walking. I have been walking with this light for a few days now and it is a joy to walk with it daily. Super cool to see the 16000 lumens blast of light from time to time - although it is dangerous to blast it out when cars are driving by!

 

Here is the size comparison between the HaikeLite MT03 ont he left, and the Thrunite TN36 2017 on the right. The Imalent DT70 is a bit taller than both but slimmer than the Haikelite. The anti-roll design on the Imalent DT70 is better than the two others. They are all good lights, but the 16000 lumens is hard to beat, it's really crazy bright!

JETBeam JET 1 MK - EDC Flashlight with 450 Lumens!

 

The JETBeam Jet 1 MK is a nice little AA powered flashlight, with max runtime of 100 hour, which is actually very decent for a AA battery flashlight. Using 14500 gives you the claimed 450 lumens, but using one AA NiMH will get you asomewhat around 150 lumens, which is still brighter than the Thrunite Ti3 or similar AA or AAA keychain lights that runs on 1.5v battery. The light comes with pocket clip, tripod mount hole - which is for the self defense attaschment. Not sure how well it will do for self defense, but breaking glass windows should be okay with the "cone" attachments as linked below..!

Size of the JETBeam JET 1 MK is very good, just like my index finger, but a bit chubbier...!

 

Use eneloop pro AA for best result, but it also accepts normal AA cells and even the lithium cells. Well lubed threads, just like all JETBeam lights.

 

There is a spring at the back-end of the tube, but not on the head. I doubt the "attachment" that you can put on the light is for smashing on "people", but rather just for tapping onto class.

 

Pocket clip is sturdy, and the tripod mount actually can be mounted to an attachment and make this your camera light for adventure's filmming..!

 

Smooth reflector, giving you a throwy beam for a single AA light?

 

Twisty setup, 3 modes, powerful and compact size. Simply said, it's a great EDC if you like more runtime than those AAA powered ones. (AA have more juice!)

 I have tried the light using 14500 after the review is done (scared of burning the led on review making process!) and yes, the 14500 worked better, and still offers you the normal modes, so I would like to use this light with 14500 instead of AA now. More power, more throw, and now I need something to make use of the tripod hole!

The truth is, the JETBeam Jet 1 MK is not going to give you the 450 lumens with a single AA Battery, but rather with the 14500 3.7v li-ion battery instead. However, it's still a nice EDC Flashlight, and with a single AA cell, pumping out 150 lumens at max, is pretty impressive, given how the AAA can only give about 120-130 lumens with the keychain lights like Thrunite Ti3, Olight EOS etc....

The JETBeam Jet 1 MK also offers you a tripod hole, which I see no point of having for this kind of light, BUT, who knows? Maybe you can buy a attacking attachment like this one below:

The silver color body is very unique, because most of my flashlights are in black or grey or "titanium" color. A silver flashight also makes is more visible in the dark, so if you are trying to find a flashlight in case of blackout, this Convoy S2+ might be easier to spot out of a bunch of black objects, right?

 

No stainless steel bezel, but the lens is AR coated, with a nice smooth reflector, I could not ask for more for a $20 budget light!

 

Here is the switch at the back, which is actually flush with the raised part around it, and so it is tailstand friendly, with a nice blue glowing ring below the button, making it very visible and easy to find in the dark in case of emergency.

 

Typical EDC tube style size, just like the Nitecore MH12 or lights of this type, very typical size, great for the grip, and can even act as an impact weapon if need.

Notice the hotspot? Very tight beam, must be having a great throw and very good for blinding people if need, yet the strobe is only memorized if activated for 2-3 seconds, which means if you strobe for 1 second and turn it off, then turn it on again, it will jump to the next mode, which is SOS!  

 

Why not a silver color clip? I don't understand the design, lol!  

 

Very powerful light when on turbo, it's a nice EDC with a legit 1000 lumen output, even for $20, one can experience the 1000 lumens power now, how fortunate are we?

 

Wait, there is more, gold plated springs and nice potted electronics, which is hard to find in these "budget light" series, but the Convoy always come in nice quality! 

 

Springs inside too, and so is the potted spots on the 2 sides, making sure that your light is as strong as hulk to withstand any drops or even hamemring absuse.

The Best Zoomable Flashlight - Sunwayman T25C

There are so many Zoomable flashlights on the market today, especially the CREE stuff on EBAY which sucks and totally lacks some serious quality. This is the best zoomable Flashlight I have ever had in my journey of flashlight collection - Sunwayman T25C. I thought I would have hated it, but somehow it worked well for me this time. I am starting to like it more and more when I get the hang of it. Here is my day one review with the light, and you can definitely see I am still in doubt of it on my day one, until I tried the beamshot outside..!

After all that beamshot, I played around with it furthermore and realized that the Sunwayman T25C zoomable flashlight is doing better when you focus the light at the square beam zone. Tested and proven in the video below.

Crazy throw eh?  This light is doing even better than I thought and it just takes some time for the zoomring to workout and get smoother, but afterall this is a nice zoomable flashlight with a lot of power in the small package. Does it worth the money? Definitely worth it. I cannot even compare this to the cheapo zoomies on EBAY that I had. It's like two different world of things. If you tried the EBAY stuff, this thing is totally going to shock you. The built quality is totally a different grade. The metal is much better, the button is much better, and the beam's brightness is at least legit. There was a cheapo zoomie I got that claimed 700 lumens and product only like half the light as this one, lol! You can't believe your eyes when you try this UFO light out. Olight M22 Warrior, Budget Tactical Light for EDC

Olight M22 Warrior is a pretty good light for the budget, and it's also a light that I have used to hooked one of my friend into the real world of flashlight. This friend of mine was amazed by the brightness and usefulness of the Nitecore MH12 that I once introduced to him a "long" time ago. Then it got too well to the point that he thinks the light is good enough for everything, there is no need to explore for more options. I guess that's the same with all other people too. Once you got your light for EDC, you just love it, and you forget to explore for more options.

I tossed the Olight M22 to him when his Nitecore MH12 got some condensation issues. Moisture went into the head of the flashlight for some reason and he found out that it leaked in from the USB charging port!  Oh boy, that was a hard week for him. I saw this happen shipped him the Olight M22 Warrior and a Thrunite Ti3 as a gift. Once the lights arrived at his place, everything changed. Before we go further into details, the MH12 throws 232m, while the Olight M22 Warrior throws about 305m, about 70m more of throw power, you get the idea.

 

After my friend tested out the Olight M22 Warrior at night, it was totally a turning point for him. The Olight M22 Warrior throws further away and got more stuff lit up at night, and the small keychain light of Thrunite Ti3 also shows its powerful beam in the dark, which made him realized that flashlight doesn't needs to be BIG to be powerful. A tiny keychain light can be stunningly bright at night too!

 

Enough said, this friend got hooked, he ordered a Thrunite Ti-Hi V4 online and another light and is about to order the Nitecore EC11 as well. Did he said before that his MH12 served all his purpose? Olight M22 Warrior, you changed him 100%!  This guy turned into a flashaholic now, congratz and welcome to the dark side...!  

For myself, I think the Olight M22 Warrior is indeed a very good EDC if you are on a budget. The light is nice and powerful with a good throwing beam, which means, it has great blinding power and a strong bezel for smacking. It's a great light, and comes with a great holster, which made it super nice for a start-up tac-light carrying option. If you want a light for self defense and is on a budget, this beast will do the job for sure. You can grill it, bake it, soak it, roll it, anything - and it won't die. This light is a monster!
