HaikeLite HT35 - Seriously Powerful Zoomable Flashlight

 

The HaikeLite HT35 is a 2300 lumens(max) flashlight with zoom feature, running on 2x 26650 batteries, with 3 modes and a super heavy duty construction body. It's simply a budget thrower flashlight, and you can expect to beam out to about 700m or more with this beast. I can compare to those 1km throw lights such as the Thrunite TN42 and Nitecore TM16GT etc. The difference is the price tag on the light, and zoom instead of non-zoomable. Personally I do not like zoom myself, but this one is one of a kind, and it does have a nice quality, heavy glass lens!

First thing to look at is the heavy and coated glass lens. Unlike the cheapo flashlights on ebay and such that claims to be zoomable, this one is really well made and is really tough build. 

 

The "ring" part of the light cannot be removed, and the tailcap cannot be tail-standed, yet the switch is simple to operate. Just bump it for the next mode, and the light always start on highest mode.

 

There is also a hole for the tripod stand, and it originally comes with a little attachment for the strap to hang onto, which I don't find it useful but clumsy instead.

The size of the light is not bad, just like a Convoy L6, not too big. 

 

Lots of fins for heat to vent out, and the light really does not get hot much in real use.

When you zoom all the way back in, you can see the LED in the center but there is no reflector of any sorts, but just the lens doing all the magical work on its own.

 

There is a thick red o-ring on the thread. Good threads btw, very smooth! As you can see here, the body of this light is very thick too, sort of remind me of the Nitecore TM03

 

There goes the tailcap, and surprise that there is no gold plated spring.

 

I have put 2x Liltokala 26650 in it, but you can put any 26650 you like, or even 2x 18650 too.

 

With some luck, I got a nice shot of the board inside, and the nice thick spring in the center.

You can unscrew the head off like this and the lens is actually sealed with the body, by a nicely lubed o-ring under the lens.

 

I really love the heavy lens!

 

You can see the seals in the head now, and yes it is air and water proof inside, unlike the crappy zoomies from ebay and "cree" brand crap.

 

Here you can see the Haikelite HT35 and the Haikelite MT03 together side by side. Gearbest's picture shows the HT35 a bit shorter, or even looking like a normal tactical light size. Here let me tell ya, it's big and long, it's definitely not an EDC light fory ou to carry around, but it is useful if you go on a trip that needs a thrower to spot things from far away. The Haikelite MT03 is a flood king, while this HT35 is a throw king, both insanely powerful with a low price tag. Imalent DN70 - Only $58 for a 3800 Lumen Compact Flashlight

Imalent DN70 is a crazy flashlight at this price range. It outputs max of 3800 lumens, comes with a nice 4000mah 26650 battery, and is USB rechargeable, that means it is a full package that is ready to play when you get the box!  Great gift idea!  You will shock all your friends with this flashlight, it's really crazy bright for this kind of size, and it is comparable to the Convoy L6 at 3800 lumens too, just with less flood i guess. I would have to say, that this is the best compact flashlight I have seen in 2017 out of all the other small size monsters. Even my Klarus G20 got to step asde and bow to this Imalent DN70 lol!

Here is the LED and the nice orange peel reflector, giving you a lot of flood but also throw. Weird enough, this light throws very well, even better than the Klarus G20 and such. I am shocked!

 

The back is very unique, because it is blue in color but dos not have anything special inside!  I thought it's magnetic or there is supposed to be a bunny popping out when I unscrew the blue part. Turns out it's just a design, with nothing special but color...

 

 The light is sexy looking and the two rubber button is very easy to find in the dark.  You can also see that the center is an OLED screen that shows you the voltage and the lumen / mode too. I have to say that this light does get hot when you use it on the turbo mode for a while, but its normal I guess. What doesn't get hot when its outputting so much light?

 

The other side is the USB charging port, which is protected by the rubber cover. I do have to tell you that this rubber cover can pop out by accident if you pull to hard. Don't be too aggressive with it when pulling it out.

 

 

The size is just right for my hand and it is pocket friendly!  Bright, powerful, and compact size, the perfect combo for 2017 flashlight trend?

When opens up, here goes the included 26650 battery, 4500 mah, pretty good!  Notice that the battery is a flat top. My klarus G20's battery cannot fit in this light, because of the extra height on the button top part. Ooops!

 

Look at the spring inside, pretty beefy looking right?  I would have to say that these Imalent lights do have some nice looking internals.

You can see my klarus G20 beside the Imalent DN70, and it is a big contrast isn't it?  My Klarus G20 keeps on screaming at this moment because it is too long and bulky, he wants to slim down to win the competition. LOL!

Convoy L6 Proved Itself is OKAY For Defense Use

The Convoy L6, 3800 lumens flashlight, has proven itself in my collection list. After smashing up soup cans and doing some abuse with it, I would say that this light is definitely built strong enough for clubbing and fighting. IF you want a strong,, powerful, bright AND tough flashlight for home defense, I strongly recommend this. The light uses 26650 batteries, and it si best to buy button tops and protected 26650 cells. The ones I got isn't the best, but they worked to provide me the power I need. I hope my new ones will arrive soon!

Best Home Defense Flashlight for $50 Only?! Convoy L6!

For home defense flashlight, you want something bigger, and more powerful. Such as the Convoy L6 that we have reviewed in our previous review of the Convoy L6. There can be so many good things to say about this light, but the main key point is that it's inexpensive compared to the similar lights in the same class, it's size offers you a perfect grip as a club if needed, and most importantly, the power that it can output is stunning - 3800 lumens of light right to the face, how can any attasckers at night keep their eyes open anyway?  As you can see there is a side switch for mode changing, which mades it very easy to use at night. No need to "guess" how to change modes by fiddling with semi-clicking the back.

 

One thing I like about the Convoy L6 is the "fins" part which was made for the heat issue when running on high power, just like any high power flashlights, but the designs acts as an anti-rolling feature, plus it can be an extra pain-giver during home defense clubbing time. I am talking about you clubbing someone's head or arm with it, not the clubbing where you go gossip with yuor friends of course.  

 

Here is the LED in the center, as you can see, it's a squarey LED with 4 sections. Skipping all the tech and specs, I have been told why this light has an orange peel reflector, and the reason is because of this LED. IF the reflector is a smooth reflector (which is better for throw power, gives you a longer beam distance), it will turn into a donut shape beam at close range, which isn't very nice. In order to overcome this issue, they need to put an orange peel reflector to smoothen out the donut and make it a creamy beamshot, or at least, more buttery.  

 

The tailcap is nice and typical design for most lights, but it is also tailstandable and somehow I find that the ridges or the part that is raised up is somewhat a good weapon for close up pinching and smashing techniques. If you have to get out of a big thug-hug, you might want to use the corners to pinch down their nerves at the back of their hand, it will definitely work well.

 

In case of anything, after your 3800 lumens light beam got the guy crazy, you can follow up with a caveman style clubbing, and go ape-mode with the guy. Nothing is better than what we learned int he past with maglits' theory. Get a long and heavy light and smash things with it like a hammer, or baton. The Convoy L6 uses 2x 26650 batteries, which makes it heavier than the typic 18650 and such. It's like a C cell batter size, but longer. I can say that the length of the 26650 is just the same as the 18650 too, just that it is fatter, and heavier, plus more capacity in most cases. I got a set now that claims to be 5000mah, which gives me more runtime than the 18650 at 3400mah for sure. With a big light like this, you want more juice, more runtime, more weight - so you can club people with it effectively. As I say, this is a good home defense light, and home defense do not require a flashlight to be compact and light weight, it jsut needs to be as deadly as possible.

 

The Convoy L6 is also tail-stand friendly, which is very useful when a blackout happens. I have been using it this way all the time for my night time walking-around-the-house operation. Just shien it around the house by pointing it up, the light being bounced down is enough to let you see everything and you won't be blinding by your own light too. Great idea, right? 

The Convoy L6 is not a light that can be used as a weapon light (mounted to a gun), but it is definitely one of my best choice for home defense or security flashlight. Imagine a security guard walking with this at night, checking out the park or parking lot, you can light up the whole place easily and no need to guess if any guy is hiding somewhere with dark clothing which your little maglit cannot reveal. Check out the outdoor bemashot test, and imagine this is your backyard or a parking lot that you have to scout around at night.

Most Powerful Flashlight Under $100, Convoy L6

You cannot believe it, the most powerful flashlight ever in the sub $100 range - Convoy L6, bringing you a 3800 lumen beam of craziness! This thing is unreal!  The only complain I have is the battery compatibility because it uses 26650 and I have none of those around. The work-around is to use 18650, but you might need a plastic holder to help you fill up the space. The Convoy L6 is indeed one of the most powerful flashlight in my collection, really one of those "great bang for the bucks" kind of flashlight. It's one of a kind, you need to get one to try it out yourself. I think I might end up loving this light.

The first day I got this Convoy L6, I was not too impressed by the orange peel reflector and thought, why they put such a reflector on this light? I would like a smooth reflector for more throw power for this kind of light, why flood? Here is my day1 review of the Convoy L6, it's pretty powerful though, not saying that it's not legit. The 3800 lumens should be legit as claimed.

The Convoy L6 is a beast for sure, but it is nowhere near the craziness of the Nitecore TM26 and TM16GT, which made me think again, is this really that powerful as claimed? I decided to put this to another test..!

One thing why I love this light so much now is because of the flood while keeping some serious throw power. The design of this light is definitely a security light design, for those security who needs to check around the place at night and prepare for any attacks coming up which they can then use the light to smack people and such. The threads should be strong enough and the body is definitely hard enough for the job. Not forget that it comes with some nice "teeth" on the bezel, which is great for this purpose too.  Having a too focused beam will lead to a problem - you cannot see the surrounding when you are checking out a park or a parking lot. Therefore, this kind of beam profile is actually quite nice. I think next thing I would need to do is find out how to "carry" the light around, maybe a hook or loop ont he hip, and that might work.

As of today, I think this is definitely a best choice for home defense or security purpose light. When you don't need a compact size light but you just want a good balance of throw and flood together, while still having the nice long body tube for a clubbing action if necessary, this thing will do the job for you!
