Thrunite TN36 2017 Review - 10k Lumen Upgraded Beast

The Thrunite TN36 2017 is an upgraded version of the TN36-UT, it has a bit more power and comes with a fully loaded package of its own. New battery, charger, and all the goodies that you need to get it running on day 1. This Thrunite TN36 2017, when pumped with the included batteries, will output 10000 lumens, definitely a push beyond the 7300 lumens in the older version.  My unboxing video below for your enjoyment!

The box opens up and smells like Thrunite, everything is just Thrunite, period.

Remarkable things here - the charger is different and is actually quite fancy to the eyes compared to the older version. I have made a video about it too.

The holster is pretty much the same as the TN36-UT, and nice to see the base is sealed up, unlike the Nitecore with open bottoms.

Open up the package and you see the light like this below, with the 4x imr18650..!

Note that the imr18650 is actually BETTER, but you can use your normal 18560 too. The normal ones will work, but the TN36 2017 will do better with the IMRs, giving you more lumens as a result. I have done a video showing that too.

The LEDs look almost identical to the older ones, and yes, it feels like Thrunite only changed some LEDs and boards, but kept the whole body the same. It is hard to even tell which one I am holding sometimes. They all look very alike. I wish they can print the lumens on the body, so we can actually see it in numbers on the head and on the body!

The battery carrier goes in and sits in place, then you screw the head back on for the world breaking lumen party. But do you know that in case of emergency, you can use the body tube for drinking water too? :)

Lighting up the Thrunite TN36 2017, a handheld sun-grade flashlight is now LIVE.

Never enough videos? Thrunite TN36 2017 official review below!

Why or if you shall get the TN36-UT or the new TN36 2017?

Some comparison will bring you to a different world of joy...!

There are or might be more videos on my channel on this light now or in the future, just YouTube them up and you will see my latest updates and testings with it. So far, I like the Thrunite TN36 2017 for its brightness but I personally like the old style mode change better because it is easier to get my modes sorted out. The dimming feature sometimes can be annoying to use in the dark and will make people go crazy when you really need the light and not blinding yourself in the dark.

ROFIS TR10 900 Lumens Angled Head Flashlight

The ROFIS TR10 is nto the cheapest flashlight of its class, but it offers you something different from your normal lights. The ROFIS TR10 got a magnetic base, angled head, and pocket clip, which fits all your needs - including the angle when you need to see your gauges while you are checking your tires and doing repairs in the dark. The light does NOT come with battery, but you can buy your own CR123 or 16340 for cheap at gearbest too. This light outputs 900 lumens max, and got a decent throw to the beam. You can see the light in reality in the review video posted at the end of this post!

First thing is to look at the size of this mini flashlight. You can see that it is not just "tiny" but VERY tiny in the CR123 powered flashlight class. The light is great for ladies who complain about anything being too big in their pockets or purse!

Packaging is simple, and only comes with the landyard loop, manual, o-rings and nothing more. Very simple indeed!

You can see the button here, which is actually not flush with the light, so yes, there can be accidental turn-on by chance, but you can always unscrew the cap a bit to prevent that if you do care.

OP reflector, giving you a good floody beam - as we all expect, but wait, there is more, it actually do have a bit of throw up to 130m!

Gold plated springs and magne hidden below the spring.

Good to see another good spring down the tube too, so it is a good design that can prevent your battery from smashing onto the board by accidental bumps and drops.

Do you realize the hotspot there? I am already shocked to see such a hot spot for this kind of light, it might do better than I expected in terms of throw.

Laying it down like this let me see the "throw beam" better, and it is definitely not a flood-only beam.

The angled head of this ROFIS TR10 is pretty tight and secure, it is even a bit hard to turn, which ensures you the light will not wobble and swing around in the pocket like how the Klarus AR10 does in the past...

Yup, you can tailstand this baby and turn it back to "normal" flashlight setup with the head pointing straight too. I find that I do like the 90 degree setup more, but its good to have an option to choose from, unlike the Olight H1 nova which sets us on 90 degree ONLY.

HaikeLite MT03 II Devourer 9000 LUMEN BEAST!

HaikeLite MT03 II Devourer- another crazy compact monster flashlight with close to 10000 lumens output!  They claim to be 9000 lumens, but the manual says it is 8760 lumens to be exact. Tell you the truth in short, it is just like the Thrunite TN36 2017 when put side by side in terms of brightness, so you can might as well call this a 10k lumen flashlight, for just about $100!

Excited?  You can get one from the link below with discount!

The light comes in a simple package, with spare o-reings, crappy landyard that we don't give a beep about, and most importantly, the light - no battery included though. Get your own 4x 18650 (better to be non-protected cells).

Here goes the manual and the light itself, Love that white button, it's rubbery and bouncy, very easy to feel that in the dark.

Did I tell you that this is very anti-roll? The light don't roll and can sit still either this way or the other side around, because the body has a flat spot - unlike the Thrunite TN36 that rolls like a ball all the time...!

There goes the other side, with a tripod hole and a flat surface that stops it from rolling. Very nice design to be honest, just a bit bulky, but it's bulky for a good reason.

There goes the LED. They are not slanted like the Thrunite TN36 but rather all straightly placed like a grid, with the whole reflector in OP style, pretty good to be honest.

The light on the left is the 9k lumen Haikelite beast, the right is the Thrunite TN36 2017, very alike in a way, but the head on the Thrunite is smaller, and the reflector is also not 100% alike. Which one is better? Um...

That is the back of the light, clearly printed Haikelite, cool logo, I wish the back will have a huge magnet ont he base,  then we can stick this 9000 lumens beast on the fridge for fun, isn't that cool?

When you screw the cap on tight, you can still see the red o-ring showing in the gap, which means if this is tossed into a bucket of harmful chemicals, the o-ring might get eaten up by the chemicals?  Water is definitely fine, but I am not sure how well it will do against harmful elements in this case, the o-rings exposing like that is new to me.

Grabbing the Haikelite in the hand feels great, the light is chubby and not too heavy, with my chubby hand, it feels like they have just married each others.

The Back opens up like this and you can see the 2 o-rings clearly now. In the light is my favorite 4x 18650 from Thrunite, yet, they are not the best choice, I should have put the IMR18650 in there as suggested. Maybe I should try that later on with the new imr18650 that came with my Thrunite TN36 2017 instead.

Nice looking electronitcs eh? Gold plated springs and connectors? The little plate or piece on the cap will freely spin around and you would need to align the two studs to get the cap screwed on properly.

A nice shot inside the light, you can see the springs and stuff there..!

Realized the blue button? It's actually VERY blue in reality, and just that light from the button alone is enough to look through my freezer at night, do you believe that?

TA DA!  9k Lumen is out! Lovely sun of a beast!

At this angle you can see the blue light better! Also, my beloved moonlight mode!

I know Thrunite is cool but this one is hard to beat if the price tag is just staying at the flash sales price, $109 for a 9k lumen monster..! I don't mind the extra weight or size!

At the end I would like to say that the Haikelite MT03 is really amazing, it should be a must-have if the price stays the same..! The bad thing is that it is not a full package - no batteries, but you can alweays get some cheaper 18650 to start with, and upgrade to the fancy ones later on when you really like the light, right?!  Come on, it's 9k lumens!

A walk with the HaikeLite MT03 II

A video from my MAKHOBBY Channel...!

Testing the Haikelite MT03 with turbo mode on and see how the step-down does. The light is amazing, and it can keep going on and on for over 1.5 hour approx. while I keep boosting it back on turbo when it step down in 2-3 mins. The 4x 18650 are down to 3.6v after the 1.5 hr testing, which is pretty good given it is pumping out a lot of lumens for a long period of time.

Enough said, it's on sales again in September!!!!  One more video for it, more beamshot for you to enjoy the beast 9000 Lumens!

Klarus G20 - 3000 lumens in Palm, Must Have!

I kept asking myself, which flashlight should I take with me tonight, and which one should be the "to go" flashlight if I have to choose one and only one? The Klarus G20 is my conclusion as of today, it is always in my jacket when I go out, because of a few very good reasons. I have done a lot of reviews on YouTube about this light too, and not forget GearBest also got a discount coupon code that might still work for you if you are in luck!

Klarus G20 is on sales at HALF PRICE - http://tidd.ly/7012eb13 From $128.89 to $61.99!!!! (Coupon: 3RDGBK20) CRAZY DEAL

Nothing is better than a floody beam at night, look at that sexy reflector on the Klarus G20, it's really floody and freindly for walking at night, or even walking in the woods. It's not "too floody" with no throw, which is also why I liked it so much. You can still light up things across the street and spot people far away, which makes it very useful.

The only complain I have is the button ont he side, which is too easy to depress by accident. I wish they make it harder to press, or use the flat / flush design like the Thrunite, which can avoid a lot of accidental power-on issue.  But again, no light is perfect as of today.

The Klarus G20 is very much a full package, it comes with a 5000mah 26650 battery, and also rechargaeble by the USB port, which is covered by a rubber cover. The light is water-proof and such, which you do not have to worry abouton the rainy days or even dropping it into the river by accident.

Why is this light so beloved here?  Because it is a full package on its own, you don't need extra charger, you don't need extra batteries, and this light will last for days before needing a recharge if you use it wisely.

There is also a switch on the tailcap side which is extra handly for tactical user, or giving you an extra option of instant-moonlight mode by using this switch. The switch is also not protruding too much, so it will not affect the tailstand ability of the light too. Schweet!

YES! 5000mah battery, 26650 cell by Klarus!  That means, long runtime, which is essential for a real survival light or a bug-out light. You don't want a light that only last for 1-3 hours!

Double springs from top and bottm to prevent your battery from being crushed, and also protecting the boards from damages, shock-proof design, and of course, sealed by o-rings to eliminate any dirty stuff or water / moist-air from going into the tube!

Enough side, youtube video time!
